The Greek economy and the inflow of foreign investments will be the central theme of Capital Link’s Annual International Forum which will take place in New York on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Entitled “Greece – Speeding Ahead Post Investment Upgrade” is an in-person event at the Metropolitan Club in New York. The Forum aims to enhance the business and investment ties between the United States and Greece and raise the profile of Greece as a business and investment destination to a global audience.
It is held in cooperation with the New York Stock Exchange, the Athens Exchange Group and major global investment banks and attracts over 1,000 delegates.
It is organized under the Auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in New York and is the longest-running Investment Summit about Greece taking place abroad, organized year after year, regardless of the political and economic conditions in Greece.
Greece is now experiencing a remarkable upturn in economic growth and inflow of foreign investments, Capital Link says in a press release.
The regaining of the Investment Grade Rating is a milestone for the Greek economy, attracting long-term capital and creating favorable liquidity conditions. This rating status unlocks opportunities for a significant influx of foreign capital, facilitated by the significant efforts in digitalization and tax incentives, it adds.
The country offers diverse sectors ripe for investment, including infrastructure, hospitality, real estate, agriculture, innovation, energy, and logistics.
Greece’s geographical position at the crossroads of three continents provides easy access to emerging and mature markets, making it an ideal hub for attracting young talent and fostering innovation – who were previously unable to invest in Greece, despite the recognition of its positive prospects, Capital Link notes.
Τhe Forum will highlight the significant progress made so far and the potential ahead, as well as the resilience and positive prospects of the Greek economy. It will showcase Greece’s competitive advantages and focus on business and investment opportunities across the major sectors of the economy, as well as the challenges facing the European and global economies today.
Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis (via webcast), Greek ministers and other officials will make presentations.
The Forum, which is a full-day event held at the Metropolitan Club, concludes with an official dinner during which we will present the “2024 Annual Capital Link Hellenic Leadership Award” to Dr. Yannis Stournaras, Governor – Bank of Greece for his outstanding contribution to Greece and Europe.
