The countdown is on for Kimberly Guilfoyle’s official appointment as the next U.S. ambassador to Greece, following her recent graduation from the U.S. State Department’s “Ambassador School.”

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), journalist Matthew Boyle shared a photo of Guilfoyle proudly holding her diploma—signaling that her new diplomatic role is nearing formal confirmation.

“Kimberly Guilfoyle has graduated from Ambassador School. She will soon be confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to Greece — after the confirmation hearing, her appointment will be voted on by the Foreign Relations Committee and then by the full Senate,” Boyle wrote.

Her appointment marks a new chapter in U.S.–Greece relations, and anticipation is growing in Athens as the capital prepares to welcome its new American envoy.

Kimberly Guilfoyle is enthusiastic about her role in Greece

Guilfoyle appears enthusiastic about her upcoming role as US Ambassador to Greece, sharing her excitement and gratitude in a recent Instagram post.

Citing a Breitbart article, she expressed “honor and humility” for the support shown by “our Greek allies,” and affirmed her readiness “to strengthen the incredible bonds between Greece and the US.”

Breitbart reports that anticipation is high across Greece—from the Prime Minister and senior government officials to cultural, business, and political leaders nationwide—who are expressing enthusiasm over the arrival of such a high-profile U.S. ambassador, pending her confirmation by the Senate.

“We are looking forward to having her confirmed,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told Breitbart News.

“I am looking forward to meeting her as soon as she comes to Greece. I think she will find that Greek-American relations are at an all-time high, so she is essentially coming at a time when we have a very strong relationship, which we can further improve.”

Trump’s choice for Athens post

Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality, was selected by Donald Trump in December 2024 to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Athens.

“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally. Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad,” Trump said.

“Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” he added.

In a statement following the announcement, Guilfoyle said she was honored to accept the appointment.

“As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” Guilfoyle said on X.
