NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and his wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger, welcomed their fourth child on Friday, a girl named Aria Capri.
Mariah shared a photo of their second daughter on Instagram, along with the baby’s name.
The couple, married in Greece in 2024, have three more children -Liam Charles, 5, Maverick Shai, 4 and Eva Brooke, 2. The latest baby balances the tally between two boys and two girls.
In November, Giannis took to Instagram to subtly announce that their family was growing, with a carousel of photos that showed Mariah’s growing baby bump. The NBA star simply captioned the photos, “Livin’ life on beat.”
During an Instagram Live in 2023, Mariah revealed that Giannis wants lots of kids. “We want a large family. I don’t think we’re done,” Mariah said. “We’re definitely not done.”
The Bucks star and his longtime girlfriend said, “I do” at a “hybrid” Greek Orthodox and Catholic ceremony in Greece in early September 2024.
After three days of an incognito (as far as was possible) wedding party, the couple got married at Costa Navarino in southern Greece.
The joyous event was celebrated by 200 guests and 30 VVIPs from the sports world, including the families of the newlyweds, friends of the couple, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with his wife Mareva Grabowski.
The new baby comes just days after the Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated by the Pacers from the 2025 Playoffs. Bouncing back, Giannis is expected to represent Greece in the Eurobasket 2025, before focusing on the NBA Preseason and the 2025-26 Regular season.
Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again among the top names in the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) race.
The league announced its finalists for major awards in late April 2025. The Greek Freak joined Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic on the MVP shortlist. Analysts widely view Jokic and Gilgeous-Alexander as the leading contenders.
Jokic, who won the award last season, is eyeing his fourth MVP honor in five years. Gilgeous-Alexander, this year’s league scoring champion, led the Thunder to 68 regular-season wins and helped the team set a new NBA record for scoring margin. It’s his first appearance as a serious MVP contender.
A panel of NBA writers and broadcasters have already submitted their ballots for all awards. The league will announce the winners for MVP, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and other honors in the coming weeks.
