The US government will issue a limited run of passports this summer featuring a large image of Donald Trump on the inside cover as part of celebrations marking 250 years of American independence.

The design will depict Trump surrounded by the text of the Declaration of Independence and the US flag, with his signature printed in gold. Another page will feature the famous painting of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.

State Department highlights US passport security in Trump design

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the passports will include “customized artwork and enhanced imagery” while retaining existing security protections. He described the US passport as one of the most secure documents in the world.

The department said it will release only a limited number for the historic occasion but did not confirm how many.

Part of broader America 250 celebrations

The passport is the latest example of Trump’s image appearing across US institutions and official materials.

A banner featuring the President’s face already hangs at the Department of Justice, while similar displays appear at the Department of Labor and the Department of Agriculture. At the latter, Trump appears alongside Abraham Lincoln beneath the words “Growing America Since 1862.”

Coins, park passes, and a proposed golden arch

The 2026 National Parks Pass also features Trump’s face alongside George Washington’s under the words “America the Beautiful.” After some visitors covered Trump’s image with stickers in protest, the National Park Service updated its policy to warn that altering the pass in any way could make it invalid.

The US Mint has published draft designs for a $1 coin bearing Trump’s likeness, while the Commission of Fine Arts this year approved a commemorative 24-karat gold coin showing a stern-faced Trump leaning over a desk.

A proposed 250-foot golden victory arch, reportedly referred to internally as the “Arc de Trump,” also received preliminary approval this month despite overwhelmingly negative public feedback. If built, it would stand taller than both the US Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial and include a golden statue reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty.
